Workout Game How to Exercise During Your Favorite TV Shows

Creating a workout game is a great way to get yourself up and moving.

One of the easiest ways to do this is to use your favorite TV shows to motivate you to get off the couch. Here’s how you do it:

Create a list of exercises

Think of some of the exercises that you like doing most, and make sure that they’re reasonably difficult. Burpees, squat jumps, plank push-ups, lunges, and mountain climbers are a few to consider. If you want to browse other options, do a Google search for “body weight exercises.” Choose five to seven exercises, write them down, and assign a number of reps to each exercise.

Create a list of common occurrences on your favorite TV show

You’ll need to pair each exercise with something that happens often on your favorite TV show. For example, a fan of The Big Bang Theory might do 20 jumping jacks every time Sheldon knocks on Penny’s door three times, while a fan of The Walking Dead might do 10 burpees every time Michonne uses her katana. A fan of The Mindy Project could do 10 squat jumps every time Mindy mentions a celebrity, and a fan of New Girl could do 10 push-ups every time Schmidt flirts with CeCe.

Print out a chart

Now all you have to do is print out or write out a chart so that you can begin playing your workout game. Here’s an example of what a chart might look like for The Big Bang Theory:

Howie’s mother yells his name – 10 push-ups

Someone mentions a superhero – 20 squats

Sheldon knocks on Penny’s door three times – 20 jumping jacks

Sheldon corrects someone – 15 lunges

Penny drinks an alcoholic beverage or says that she needs a drink – 10 burpees

Someone plays a video game or computer game – 10 squat jumps

Rajesh baby talks to his dog or lets her lick his face – 10 lunge jumps

Feel free to use this chart to work on your bangin’ bod while watching The Big Bang Theory.
